2008年5月12日下午2時28分四川八級大地震，一個令人刻骨銘心震驚全球的哀痛日子，驅使我們演藝界台前幕後過百人員齊心協力，於短短一星期內集各方力量，成功籌組[演藝界512關愛行動]。

四川災區重建是需要很長的時間，而持續性的關注；建設及協助是必需的，如倖存下來的孤兒助養問題、校園重建及教育工程、災後社區重建等…都是[演藝界512關愛行動]的主要支援項目。而[演藝界512關愛行動]是由演藝界台前幕後人員齊心發動，除善款以外，主要目的是為災民作出一個不離不棄承諾，希望各單位能以關愛的心，給予四川災民持續性的鼓勵、與及心靈上的關愛。 [演藝界512關愛行動]的宗旨，承諾於未來七年裡，竭力為四川災民作出不離不棄的重建家園項目。

[HONG KONG, 22nd May, 2008] Tens of thousands of lives have been taken…thousands more are missing and injured. In the largest earthquake in the history of China, at 2:28pm on 12th May, 2008 became a devastating chapter. The entertainment industry of Hong Kong once again quickly congregates to organize “Artistes 512 Fund Raising Campaign” within a week. Today at 3pm the initiator of this Campaign, Mr. Andy Lau, was hosted a press conference to announce the official commencement of this campaign at Elements 2/F The Grand Cinema House 6. “Indeed the earth was shaken but not our will to care and help! Donation in billions and help from all around the world have been pouring into the country in trying to salvage the tragedy. It goes to show the care from near and far.” said Mr. Andy Lau our Campaign Initiator. He also pointed out that Sichuan requires a rather long period of time to be re-habited and needs continuous support throughout the process. We are mobilizing a series of activities including a fund raising show to help the long term reconstruction and education for the victims and their families. The care and support of the orphans, education programs, school re-buildings, community re-establishments.…. This campaign is supported by the entire entertainment industry of Hong Kong and over hundreds of organizations to vow to pay respect to the deceased, send condolence and love to those who lost, support the brave, salute the heroes and encourage the survivors! For a continuous support to the victims and their families, we wish all companies to contribute their care and love for the people of Sichuan.
